President of Senior Placement Services
Has served in the senior healthcare industry for more than a decade. Tim entered the field as a sales counselor for Brookdale Place University Park, then Somerby St. Vincent’s 119. In 2013, Tim joined Always Best Care of Birmingham (ABC) as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. During his five year tenure, Tim helped ABC achieve one of the highest growth rates in the nation. During the course of his career, Tim has helped more than 3,000 families find the right place and care levels for their loved ones.
Tim attends our Lady of Sorrows Church, where he has served as an usher, eucharistic minister and parish council president. He is also a member of the alumni board of the UAB College of Arts and Sciences, and he recently accepted the nomination to be the new commissioner of Joy League, an independent baseball league for children ages 4-12.
Tim’s hobbies include golf and coaching youth sports. Tim has two children: Laura, 16, and Timothy, 13, both of whom attend school in Homewood.
Monica Luster has been involved in the senior healthcare industry for the past six years, working as a marketing director for Brookdale-Northport and as a senior placement specialist. During her time in the industry, Monica has helped more than 1500 families find the right senior living community and level of care for their loved ones.
Monica attends The Church of The Highlands. She is a member of the non-profit group CAHABA and is also a member of the Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Anniston/Gadsden chambers of commerce.
Monica’s hobbies include running, working out, cooking, traveling, and time with family and friends. Monica has one daughter, Allie, who recently graduated from Auburn University.
Chris Blackerby is a 20 year veteran of the senior housing industry, all in the Birmingham market. Chris brings a wealth of experience to the Senior Placement Services team. As a licensed Assisted Living Administrator (ALA) he is able to help families make the best care choice for their loved ones. His passion is to help seniors and their families in their search for senior housing placement.
Chris is a graduate of Samford University and is active in many alumni activities. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Assisted Living Association of Alabama, Alzheimer's of Central Alabama, and currently serves on the Alabama Baptist Children's Home Foundation board. He and his wife are active members of Hunter Street Baptist Church where he has served as a deacon, a new member class volunteer, and as an usher. They have one daughter who attends Samford University and live in the Hoover area.
Mitzi has more than ten years' experience providing guidance to families looking for care for their loved ones. Mitzi believes her work in senior care is much more than just a job.
When working with families. Mitzi goes above and beyond to find the best possible solution to meet their needs.
Mitzi is excited to be a part of the Senior Placement Services team and to be able to share the many wonderful options available in senior care with her clients.
Mitzi is happily married and loves to travel with her husband. She knows that each day is a gift from God.
Mitzi has 10 years experience giving guidance to families looking for care for their loved ones. She realized rather quickly that it wasn't just a 'job' but her mission. While talking to families, you become rather attached and wanting to do everything possible to meet their needs. You always want to go above and beyond.
Lisa Tinney has more than 20 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, having worked in home care, senior community care and on behalf of disabled veterans. Lisa also has an extensive background in banking, finance and estate planning.
Because of her involvement in senior centers, church groups and civic organizations, Lisa has been able to encounter people in all walks of life and to provide counseling and assistance to those making important healthcare decisions for themselves or their family members. She has a strong understanding of the needs of families undertaking the process of relocating a loved one to a senior community, and her knowledge of the various levels of care offered by area communities has enabled her to provide invaluable guidance to her clients.
Roxanne Shuler joined Senior Placement Services in 2019 as a placement specialist. Roxanne has an extensive background in sales and marketing, and she is excited about the opportunity to help Birmingham-area families find the best care solutions for their loved ones.
Roxanne is a graduate of The University of Alabama with a B.A. degree in Communications. She has two children; a daughter who is a nurse with St. Vincent's Home Health, and a son who recently graduated from Vestavia Hills High School.
Roxanne’s hobbies include working out and running trails with her Red Mountain Trail group. She also enjoys time on Lake Jordan boating and fishing. Roxanne has volunteered since 2013 with Alabama Power’s annual Renew Our Rivers anual campaign to clean up Lake Jordan. She is a foster mom with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society and has served as President of her Homeowners Association for the past several years.
Dave Lee joined Senior Placement Services in July of 2020. Over the past 13 years, Dave has enjoyed a rewarding career as an outside sales executive. Prior to that, he was well recognized for his successful ventures in the hospitality industry. Dave thoroughly enjoys and values the relationship building aspect of his work, helping his clients and customers achieve / exceed their goals. Dave is a Business school graduate of Samford University, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Economics. His hobbies include golf, fitness and learning the guitar. Dave serves on the Usher team at Church of the Highlands, is the proud father of two grown children and served as a youth coach for a variety of team sports.
Social Media Specialist
Susan Melvin joins Senior Placement Services as Social Media Specialist. Susan has worked in the senior living industry since 2012, helping seniors and their loved ones meet their needs in Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Independent Living. During her time as a Director of Sales and Marketing, she worked to help educate seniors and families on Senior Living options, state regulations, and activities and events through social media.
Susan is a graduate of Kaplan University with a master’s degree in Public Health. She has served on a number of non-profit boards and she also volunteers with several groups throughout Birmingham. She and her two daughters are active members of Church of the Highlands where she serves as a Greeter and Small Group Leader. Susan and her daughters love to travel.
She currently serves with the Alzheimer’s Association of Alabama and Noland Health Services.
